Doesn’t fit my palate. Too sweet with a Sprite taste in the background.

Bob Barley Cold Brew by Baffin Brewing Company

Jeff B. is drinking a Bob Barley Cold Brew by Baffin Brewing Company at Wellston, MI

Found in the back of the fridge. It’s about the same as my 2019 check in. Strong coffee notes and medium body. OK, for a non-BA stout.

Ripped Right by One Well Brewing

Very pale in color. Citra and Mosaic hops are hard to beat. Not as juicy as some but still good. It does have kind of a lime twang, as others have noted.

Mayan Mocha Stout by Odd Side Ales

Jeff B. is drinking a Mayan Mocha Stout by Odd Side Ales at Wellston, MI

A wild combination of flavors melded together in one odd stout. Chocolate and a touch of coffee up front, nutmeg and cinnamon on the finish, followed by habanero heat. One per night is plenty but it delivers as described.

Darkness (2021) Barrel-Aged by Surly Brewing Company

Jeff B. is drinking a Darkness (2021) Barrel-Aged by Surly Brewing Company at Wellston, MI

My first chance to try Darkness of any kind. Enjoyed the high end bourbon notes even though I’m not a bourbon aficionado. It’s oakey on the finish and nicely sweet. Booziness does not detract. 4.75 if it were a little thicker.

Plenty of juicy citrus notes and grapefruit aroma. It’s smooth with minimal bitterness and a nice twinge of dankness.

Did someone mislabel the can? This isn’t a NEIPA by any stretch. Overly malty and bland.

Deleterious Double Oaked by Odd Side Ales

Jeff B. is drinking a Deleterious Double Oaked by Odd Side Ales at Wellston, MI

Heavy char along with dark chocolate up front. Bourbon notes come through with a burn on the finish. The pour is thick and black with a smooth mouthfeel. Not as sweet as others from Odd Side.

Double Oaked Rye Hipster Brunch Stout by Odd Side Ales

Jeff B. is drinking a Double Oaked Rye Hipster Brunch Stout by Odd Side Ales at Wellston, MI

Complex combination of flavors but most of them come through and develop as you near the bottom of the glass. Maple sweetness is tempered by the smoky oak/bacon. BA pulls it all together. Great oaky aroma. Could be a 5.00 if it were a little thicker.

Scotts A Little Hazy 2 by Big Lake Brewing

Jeff B. is drinking a Scotts A Little Hazy 2 by Big Lake Brewing at Wellston, MI

Plenty of juicy citrus notes but a bit of and odd hop finish. The hop bill isn’t listed. Maybe it’s Nelson or Ekuanot. Still decent.

Deleterious Vanilla by Odd Side Ales

Jeff B. is drinking a Deleterious Vanilla by Odd Side Ales at Wellston, MI

Surprisingly few check-ins for a beer canned in mid January. Glad I found one. The pour is thick with a deep brown head. BA takes center stage throughout. Vanilla may lend some sweetness but it’s barely noticeable. Some dark fruit but boozy, boozy!

Jeff B. is drinking a Dragon’s Milk Reserve: Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout With Peanut Butter & Cocoa Nibs (2021-1) by New Holland Brewing at Wellston, MI

Thin with a Diet Coke look and mouthfeel. I let it warm but peanut butter was a no-show. Mainly a chocolate BA stout. Definitely doesn’t live up to the hype.

Oaty bitterness throughout and some hop bite at the finish. “Imperial” doesn’t mean better in my opinion. This could do without the extra alcohol.

Meh. Pretty bland for a DIPA. At $18/four pack, it ought to be better. I know what Jeremy is getting for his birthday 🥳. Jon and Ashley might need one too.

Corona Light by Grupo Modelo

Jeff B. is drinking a Corona Light by Grupo Modelo at Wellston, MI

Left behind by renters at the cabin. Couldn’t let it go to waste. It’s surprisingly good. Not the malty sweetness of so many other mass produced beers. I could actually enjoy one or two on a hot day.
