Presenting our 3rd Annual Guinness Chili Cook Off benefiting Pancreatic Cancer. Join us Saturday, February 8th, 2020 to help us taste and decide a winner! Register to join the competition by emailing [email protected] or calling (205)326-7151. **You must include Guinness in your recipe and be cooked on site**
WE WILL PROVIDE:
- One 6ft table
- Canopy tent
- Trash cans
- Bowls and spoons for sampling
- Guinness beer for recipe
YOU BRING:
- All ingredients for chili (beans, spices, meats, sauces, etc.)
- Any condiments (chives, cheese, sour cream, crackers, cornbread, etc.)
- Cookware and utensils
- Burners, propane, warmers, etc.
- Water for cooking, rinsing, etc.
COOKING:
- All teams must prepare a minimum of 3 gallons of fully cooked chili.
- Prep-work can be off site **(pre-cooked, marinated, or smoked meats, washing/cutting veggies, and soaking beans)** NO COOKING except for meats, please.
- Recipe must include a minimum of 32oz. of Guinness Draught Stout or Guinness Blonde Lager for every 3 gallons of chili cooked. (We provide Guinness beer)
- Teams are able to start cooking at 12:00PM.
- The Beer Hog will allow setup at 11:00AM.
JUDGING:
-Each team must present chili sample to judges between 5:00PM-6:00PM.
- Chili will be judged on a 1-5 scale (1=poor, 5=excellent) in 4 categories:
- Overall Taste
- Creative use of Guinness
- Texture
- Aroma
- A Guinness creativity profile card will be provided to you upon your arrival. The purpose of this is to write a description of how you utilize Guinness in your recipe. Your card will be featured at your table for the public to see and presented to the judges with your sample.
