Mellow Hops by Golden State Cider

A surprising subtle piney note to the aroma. The body is great though; tart green apple, subtle piney hops. Dry crops finish. All around lovely.

Slide Side Cold IPA by Brasserie Saint James

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Slide Side Cold IPA by Brasserie Saint James at Spanish Springs, NV

Subtle orange peel & biscuit aroma is nice, if you can find it. Body is a lovely blend of light feel, sweet juicy cumquat & orange, & a fluffy carb before a pine resin that lingers in the finish. All lovely, if not a lil’ too subtle.

Subtle tart straw-like & juniper aroma is wonderful. Body is medium feel, but the bright carb, the funky tartness, the juniper, the finish is a subtle sweet bready feel. Really lovely, well balanced, very nice.

Lovely chocolate, woody, slightly boozy aroma. Body is absolutely wonderful. Light dark chocolate notes, subtle woody notes hidden underneath, with dark caramel & hint of char, & raisin. The feel is light & drinkable & never overwhelming. Lovelyl

Sweet dark caramel aroma is wonderful. The body is VERY dangerous, because it is not boozy at all. Pure sweet caramel, a hint of burnt sugar, a sweet sticky finish. A lovely, straight forward barley wine, but who cares? Love it

Dark Saison by Alibi Ale Works

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Dark Saison by Alibi Ale Works at Spanish Springs, NV

Big roasty, toasty bready aroma is lovely. The body is medium feel with subtle toasted dark bread, raisin, & a bright carb. All wonderful, I like it very much, but is it a saison? It feels almost like a Belgian dubbel? It seems almost off style.

Subtle pine & melon aroma. The body is a medium feel, with a nice pine resin note on top of a subtle sweet melon & passion fruit. There’s a light, clean finish as well. Nice, classic for the style, & I always dig melon in an IPA.

Bud Light Platinum by Anheuser-Busch

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Bud Light Platinum by Anheuser-Busch at Spanish Springs, NV

Aroma is a bit off, with maybe a stronger boozy note than I would expect? “Enjoying” this out of a bottle, so take that with a grain of salt. The body is surprisingly bready & floral, & per usual it’s way too sweet. Not going to ever buy one, but not bad.

Return of the Wanderer by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Return of the Wanderer by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery at Spanish Springs, NV

Subtle boozy, bready aroma. The body is unique, as a mellowed out DIPA, with some deep toffee notes, a boozy note that’s hidden under a nice piney, earthy, grassy hop character. It’s all around quite nice, if not a bit underwhelming.

The Milkman by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery

Chad Whitaker is drinking The Milkman by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery at Spanish Springs, NV

Subtle coffee aroma. The body is light & silky, with a prominent roasted coffee note on top a subtle milk chocolate. There’s a classic porter feel & finish, even tough this is labeled as a stout… not sure why they mislabeled it.

The Voyager by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery

Chad Whitaker is drinking The Voyager by The Depot – Craft Brewery and Distillery at Spanish Springs, NV

Subtle all around. Subtle toasted bread in the aroma, a hint of earthy hops. The body is light, the toasted bready note is light, there’s a subtle hint of tropical sweetness buried in there somewhere, but it’s too hidden to really grasp.

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Sound of Silence 2022 by IMBÄŞB Custom Brews at Spanish Springs, NV

Huge, rich oakey chocolate vanilla aroma is awesome. The body is… thin on feel, unfortunately. There’s a nice oakey note, there’s some boozy bourbon-esque notes, there’s some of that vanilla & a nice espresso note, but the feel is just to thin.

Contradiction by Alibi Ale Works

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Contradiction by Alibi Ale Works at Spanish Springs, NV

Stale acidic coffee aroma is incredibly off putting. Body follows suit. Same coffee notes, with a light feel to the body, a subtle lactose sweetness, & a lack of… just about anything else. Not great. This beer seems to be actively trying to be bad.

Kolsch by Alibi Ale Works

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Kolsch by Alibi Ale Works at Spanish Springs, NV

Hrm. There’s not much of an aroma but a hint of floral hops. The body’s also “not much of”… the body is light & watery. Kolsch should not be an American light lager. There’s a subtle sweet biscuit, a hint of floral, but then… nothing. Beer flavored water…

WOW. Right chocolate & peanut is amazing. The body is surprisingly drinkable for 10.2%. There’s sweet chocolate, but then it’s a lovely pop of bright peanut butter that is lovely & inviting & before you notice it’s a sweet grape jam. All around lovely!

Chad Whitaker is drinking a Tough Love [BANISHED] 2018 by Crux Fermentation Project at Spanish Springs, NV

Very subtle roasty aroma. Body is light on feel, with a hint of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate with a bit of sweeter chocolate underneath. Lovely, roasty, balanced & worth the wait, and the next bottle will be worth the wait until Bend again!
