Last one in the fridge, getting a little long in the tooth at about 6 weeks but still holding up well.

Hero's Journey by Carton Brewing Company

Clean and clear, yet full-bodied, chewy, malty, honey sweet Kolsch. Surprisingly complex layers of sweetness and fruit (orange) for a well-behaved five percenter. Even a little dank on some sips. This would make for a nice NFL Sunday all day session.

Upping my rating to 4.8 on this can from a 4.5 at the source. The oat base makes the mouthfeel so soft and full. Lots of juicy citrus. Floaties for the win!

Roasty coffee and chocolate on the nose. Hints of cherries complement these flavors on the palate. A little thin on the mouthfeel, but the flavors make up for that. Not picking up a whole lot of the “barrel”, but assume it’s lending to the overall finish.

Soft, smooth, easy sipper. Pineapple, citrus, grapefruit. Juicy. Proper bitterness. Some grassy earthiness. Thanks for the opportunity, David S.

7 years since I’ve had one of these. Coffee and Bourbon on the nose. Coffee forward. Creamy mouthfeel. Bourbon barrel on the finish. Strong. Needs some warming up.

Tonight’s can has a very carbonated mouthfeel, but it has no head at all. Lots of nice flavors, but rather thin.
