Bready notes remind me of doughnuts more than pop tarts, but I’m not mad about it. Cinnamon & nutmeg in the close help balance out the sweetness that comes from a considerable amount of thick, slightly syrupy, strawberry. Super creamy & smooth.

The initial notes- rye, woody earthiness, a hint of vanilla, slight spice- were reminiscent of whiskey. Sour cherry, malt vinegar, & plum blend in so, so, smoothly, creating an exceptional sour that finishes dry w/a lingering zing of tart funk.

Bubblegum in the nose, but that’s the only suggestion of sweetness. Clove, pepper, lemon, with a subdued funk and moderate acidity that takes this saison into sour territory. Light to medium-bodied, with what seems like limitless carbonation.
