Nowhere near as bad as feared. Genuine root beer character mixed with chocolatey monster stout base. Apple Brandy barrels seem like an odd choice, but I get no real Apple out of this, just a more generic oak barrel and booze (this is a good thing)

I cannot think of the deep sea without shuddering at the nameless things that may at this very moment be crawling and floundering on its slimy bed, worshipping their ancient stone idols and carving their own detestable likenesses on submarine obelisks…
Mark is drinking a No Oven Required by The Bruery at Qwghlm
The peach is coming off as a bit medicinal, but still pretty tasty…
Mark is drinking a Fignotize by The Bruery at Qwghlm
Tasty and an improvement over Notorious FIG from last year, but it’s gilding the lily with extra ingredients (the plums in particular seem a bit out of place). Still, the extra barrel treatment makes up for some of that and it’s pretty well done…
Mark is drinking a Werewolves of Ecuador by The Bruery at Qwghlm
Ah-hoo… Plenty of vanilla, a worthy successor to Vanilla Villain. Here’s to hoping they’ll make a Werewolves of Ecuador Reserve….
Mark is drinking an As Far As the Rye Can See by The Bruery at Qwghlm
Fantastic, tons of chocolate, huge barrel character, plenty of bourbon leavened by rye spice for complexity, rich caramel and vanilla, best Bruery release of the year so far…

Mark is drinking an A Deal With the Devil (Purple - Bourbon) by Tired Hands Brewing Company at Qwghlm
Mark is drinking a Firestone 19 (XIX) Anniversary Ale by Firestone Walker Brewing Company at Qwghlm
Holding up surprisingly well, maybe a tad past its prime, but plenty of barrel character remains. These older blends really stand out when compared to more recent Anny blends…

Kurt G: Had a different experience with this on tap at the source versus the bottle. To my taste the bottle was more enjoyable but perhaps it was more about giving the adjunct time to play nice 🍻

Mark: Kurt G. Interesting, I almost never get Bruery on tap, but I’ve definitely made similar observations about draft/packaged versions being different for some local breweries. 🍻
