Haven’t had an Amber in some time as this is not my favorite style. This one was better and lighter than expected. Not as one-note as some I’ve had. And, while still a malt bomb, it is lighter than some others, likely due to a more modern hop mix.

I do love KBS, but I think this variation is a bit of a miss, as least after 2+ years of aging and in this specific ratio. There is definitely too much cinnamon in the mix and the black coffee is too prevalent now, making for a dry, fairly bitter stout.

Beautiful can label. Thick gold in the glass with a one finger meringue head. Chocolatey malt lurks underneath old school Mosaic and Galaxy hoppiness and some berry sweetness. Dry bitterness on the finish straddles the line of interesting vs overwhelming.

Beautiful hazy gold in the glass with a bright white head. So much zesty tropical juice that it actually turns the drink bitter at times. Papaya, guava, tangerine, some grapefruit. Not particularly balanced, but juicy for sure.

Unique taste profile with cut grass, a little lemon and honey, Sauvignon Blanc, and some malt. The finish, though, betrays the body of the beer a bit, as it ends dry with a surprising herbalness and some misplaced tanginess. Solid, not spectacular.

Very interesting - this is the 4th beer of this 4-pack, and this one is markedly different than the other 3: not as dark visually, not as aged tasting, certainly more balanced, even a bit brighter than the other 3. Still a fair amount of particulates.

Beautiful golden cloudy haze in the glass. Lots of sudsy, soapy orange throughout, with plenty of tropical citrus atop piney bitterness. Noticeable alcohol with a semi-dry finish.

Collab with Outer Range from CO. Smooth for its size, and definitely doesn’t drink like an 8.6%. Includes notes of mango and other tropical fruit, but without an obvious standout. The juiciness is stunted by some light dankness towards the finish.

Citra is a well known and well-used hop, so doing a single-hop IPA focused on Citra shouldn’t lead to surprises. While not a revelation, this beer is a solid showcase, easy to drink at 5.25%, & bright. A little soapiness at times, but nothing distracting.

This beer is loaded with orange, orange, and more orange. In the nose and throughout the entire drink. Lighter, smoother orange rather than the zesty orange some stronger brews favor, even creating some sweetness. Too much of a one trick pony for me.

Fairly simple juice bomb, which isn’t a bad thing at all. There is a bit of pepper at the finish, and the malt body shows up just a little there, but for the most part, it’s just a Citra showcase. Fairly smooth and easy to drink. 3.9.

This may be an oxymoron or a back handed compliment, but this beer was surprisingly good for a light lager! Easy to drink more than 1 and a good football game starter. Plus, it gets extra points for being a Penn State beer!

The word that comes to mind here is “strident”. The herbal spiciness is aggressive, almost a caricature of a west coast IPA. Clean and clear, but also dry and somewhat soapy, this beer is not tantalizing. Hoppy and dry, with a sulfur note that begs “why”?
