Language is awesome. There are so many synonyms! You can say almost anything! And if you can’t describe it with words you know - you can make something up and chances are you’ll still be understood. Because Language! There are a lot of synonyms for intense, and a lot of synonyms for committed. There are synonyms for great, too. 43 of them, in fact. Barrel aged imperial stout from 12 month Westward Whiskey and DryFly Whiskey barrels with Brazilian, Congolese & Guatemalan vanilla beans, cacao nibs & dates.

Matryoshka begins with a decadent imperial stout aged for one year in whiskey and bourbon barrels. During this twelve month period of confinement, the powerful flavor of the barrel tempers the dessert-like sweetness of the base beer to produce a rich, smooth, flavorful stout that is neither too thick, nor too thin.

Matryoshka is perfectly, lovingly crafted to fulfill our finest stout dreams. Smaller and smaller variations emerge from the mother batch, conditioned on complementary ingredients, creating a family of variants. Matryoshka’s descendant variants will release mid-February at The Aftermath.

2024 Matryoshka was aged in Westward & Westland Whiskey Barrels.

We aggressively dialed back the base Mylar Bags bitterness to balance it out with this unnecessary amount of hops. Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, El Dorado and Amarillo in aggressive volumes. It's like drinking a whole 6-pack of IPA from the early 2000's all at once. We had to push the limits just once to see what would happen! Read Less

been harnessing the power of the elements
ever since. April is Vortex Month - a
celebration of firsts and bests and the
wildness of the natural forces that could have
crushed us before we even began.
This month, we Doubled the Dry Hop to
produce a fiercer, bolder, wilder version of this
Northwest classic.
Vortex is a curiously sessionable Northwest
IPA hand crafted in Astoria, Oregon.

A Munich Helles Lager is the epitome of balance and nuance. Noticeable malt character, but not too malty. Noticeable hop character, but not too hoppy. The key is using quality ingredients and a meticulous process. Fort George brewed with German malts to get the proper regional flavor profile and Hallertauer Mittlefruh hops for a delicate balance of floral and fruity. Fermentation was extra low and slow, creating a clean and crisp ester profile. And traditional spunding, where the tank is kept under pressure during fermentation, produced natural carbonation.
