Doodlin' by Bracket Brewing

Definitely the heaviest serving of Kiwi hops that I've tasted. Oily, potty, greenstick like a wet hop brew, dry AF. Very interesting brew.

Hazy golden orange, fine white head. Creamy tropical stonefruit aroma, follows through to the flavours. Smooth, not overly sweet, a lot of oaties would aspire to be this good.

Juice Bomb by Two Mates Brewing

Pours a decent haze and light head. Light juicy aroma. Fruit forward, pineapple and a bitter grapefruit. But very thin, especially for the ABV.

XPA by TWØBAYS

Ian Barra is drinking a XPA by TWØBAYS at Mollymook Beach

Pours a beautiful dark gold with a slight haze. Head is disappointing. Light fruit/floral aroma. Well balanced, hop forward. Pineapple, stonefruit and a touch of citrus. Smooth honeyed finish. If I had to drink GF this would likely be a staple.

Ian Barra is drinking a More Questions Than Answers by Mountain Culture Beer Co. at Mollymook Beach

Faint aroma of unpeeled citrus. Light haze, pretty lively with a robust sticky head. Dry citrus, resin that turns woody, lightly bitter finish. Malts are only slightly sweet and neutral so it's more of a citrusy lager or an IPL than pils.. still very nice

Recurring Dreams by Hawkers Beer

Ian Barra is drinking a Recurring Dreams by Hawkers Beer at Mollymook Beach

Muddy orange/brown pour with a foamy dying head. Meaty stonefruit aroma. I love Mosaic. And this gives a really good account of itself flavour wise but can't help tasting a beer that's stuck in no man's land between hazy and westie. Still enjoyable.

Dank Little Thing by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

Ian Barra is drinking a Dank Little Thing by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. at Mollymook Beach

Pours fairly thick (& solids) with an off-white candling head. Smells like a bag of heads... and a little juicy. Resinous fingerprints all over this, and that spicy fruit also comes through. Definitely a pot linger along with the reasonable bitterness.

Dank You For Hopping by Behemoth Brewing Company

Great drop, even though past its BB. Dank, resin, pine - all the essential ingredients for me to love a westie. And only 6%, definitely punches above!

Lager by Loophole Brewing Co

Ian Barra is drinking a Lager by Loophole Brewing Co at Mollymook Beach

Slightly cloudy pour with a foamy head. Welcoming citrus/sweet malt aroma. Citrus comes through the pilsner malts easily, followed by more subtle melon and bread. Slightly resin/honey kinda finish. Nicely done.

Ian Barra is drinking a Rock Juice V13 by Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. at Mollymook Beach

Hazy pour, head's not amazing. Pungent ripe fruit aroma, I'm ready to Rock. Absolute kaleidoscope of 13 hops with citrus and stonefruit dominating... maybe the juiciest beer I have ever tasted, but it is a bit thin somehow, but it is.

Fair haze, soft fluffy head. Juicy aroma. Tropical fruit flavours, familiar MC herbal pot hit. Wait, did I just drink this tonight in an OC version??? And this is a bit thin... Maybe this has a little citrus addition, maybe it doesn't matter!!

Nope, nope nope. Not right. Really hazy, fleeting head, convoluted flavours that amount to nothing. Which is what my faves MC know about surfing, unless this is a bad can.

Ian Barra is drinking a Trappist Westvleteren 12 by Brouwerij De Sint-Sixtusabdij van Westvleteren at Mollymook Beach

Very dark pour with the finest creamy head. Aroma is surprisingly subtle dark malts. Super smooth on the palate, big step up from the 8, less caramel and dried fruit added. The spices are subtle but there, tongue numbing. Delicious and dangerous.

Trappist in Molly... go figure! Pretty lively pour, fine head that lingers and clings. Dark and tasty, big caramel vibes to start, the depth rolls in during the journey... banaa, cloves, bread all I'd hoped for. Ridiculously expensive but it is the OG.

Oat Cream IPA by Frenchies Brewery

Ian Barra is drinking an Oat Cream IPA by Frenchies Brewery at Mollymook Beach

There is an absolute banger of an oatie in here... juicy, stonefruit, creamy and tasty. Unfortunately it's behind a heavy curtain of hop burn. If you have a sensitive palate avoid! If you already have a can, store upright and do not pour the last inch!!!!
