Standard tripel aromas & flavours, but with less fruity-phenolic complexity + more of a boozy edge than leading takes on the style. Still glad to revisit this, as it’s been years since I last sampled.

Licorice root, star anise, fig. Some black plum, raisin & toasted pumpernickel. Hint of ethanol. Taste mostly follows. Full bodied MF, very sweet middle, prickly carbonation w/ long warm finish. A welcomed seasonal twist on the BSDA style.

Dried apricot, fruity effervescent yeast, hint of clove. Some spice box, banana smoothie + fuzzy peach. Taste largely follows. Full velvety MF, sweet middle, long drying finish w/ warmth going down. Not a world beater, but still very good.

Orange jujube, light sulphur, toasty malt. Prominent grassiness + hint of peach. Taste mostly follows. Medium bodied MF, lush & silky middle, dry mildly bitter finish. I don’t understand the low ratings as this is a fairly solid English pale/IPA.

Dark chocolate, roasted grain, espresso. Hint of smoke. Taste sort of follows, but is much sweeter than nose suggests (lactose). Medium-full velvety MF, creamy carb, saccharine sweet middle, off-dry finish. Well constructed, but not my thing.

Orange marmalade, toasted biscuit, caramel candies. Some lemon & mineral, a bit floral too. Taste largely follows. Light side of medium MF, silky smooth middle, mildly spicy, bitter & dry finish. Simple yet satisfying bitter that’s better than I expected.
