Arcanor is drinking a Dernière Volonté Refermenté Avec Brett by Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! at Metro Plus Thibeault Blainville

2016-10-11, 341ml bottle 2014-11. So two years old. Pour clear golden with copper notes and medium white head. Aroma of brett, Belgian yeast, notes of wood and cheese. Taste of classic Belgian Ale, Hops are quite gone by now.

Arcanor: But the brett kept this beer pretty strait and drinkability high. Medium carbonation, oily and notes of salt.

Arcanor: Nice smooth bitter and brett finish. Weird that the brett is more intense in this one. Is it the age or the recipe ?

2016-10-29, 330ml bottle no date. Pour dark brown with some red notes. Tall dense off white foam that vanish fast and stay as a ring. Aroma of raisin juice and notes of toffee. Taste is on the malt side, Belgian yeast.

2016-10-23, 330ml bottle mo date. Pour pale yellow wit a none lasting white head. Aroma of weak Belgian yeast with notes of spice like cloves. Taste is pretty boring, shy yeast and fade cloves. Medium body and medium carbonation for the style.

Arcanor: Short finish of fermentation and ethanol. Once that is past, a taste of cheap Lager stay. I tasted the L’Amoszus Blanche at the same time.

Arcanor is drinking a St-Ambroise Black IPA by Brasserie McAuslan (St-Ambroise) at Metro Plus Thibeault Blainville

2016-06-27, 341ml bottle, best before 2016-12-15. Pour pitch black with red reflexion, a small dense foam that doesn’t 10 seconds. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolat. Hops is not showing on the nose. Medium to full body, oily and bitter.

2016-06-26, 341ml bottle, best before 2016-12-06 (6 months ? Yeah, right !!!). Pour golden with a small foam of big bubbles that leave my sight pretty fast. Aroma of butter (diacetyl) and notes of malt.

Arcanor: Bitterness is lower then his brother Session IPA. The long waiting for the resin taste is not coming. Buttery malt from start to finish.
