The Lucky Turtle is fortunate to have these bad ass musicians in here every Wednesday. Do yourself a favor and check them out. They also invite and welcome musicians to come and play, true jam style.

Howard Page (saxophone/flute)

Howard grew up in Cincinnati and went through the jazz program at North Texas State. His heaviest influences are Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, David Sanborn, and Edgar Winter. He has opened for such acts as REO Speedwagon, Chuck Berry, Three Dog Night, B.J. Thomas, Chubby Checker, and Tony Orlando. Some of the artists that he has played on stage with are The Drifters, The Coasters, The Crystals, The Chiffons, Petula Clark, Sam Moore, Lesley Gore, Gene Chandler, Brian Hyland, Tommy Roe, Eddie Holman, Andy Kim, and Jerry Springer. Howard currently plays once a month at Henke Winery in Cheviot with Crosstown Jazz, in the classic rock group Eden, and every Wednesday at the Lucky Turtle with the Finneytown Music Workshop. Summers Hagerman (guitar)

Cincinnati native Summers started learning guitar while living in California in 1966. His music education was private lessons with José Madrigal, Cal Collins and Joe Pass. Inspirations include Hank Garland, Wes Montgomery, Cal Collins, Joe Pass, Freddie Green, and Jimi Hendrix. He has performed with Tim Stone Trio, Mike Emerson, Jerry Conrad Rhythm and Brass, Giant Steps, Frank Vincent, Pastiche, Latin Legacy (at Festival Latino, opening for Pancho Sanchez), Chicken Heads, Phil Blank Blues Band, Odyessy (Oakland, CA disco band), Just Duet, Lees Junction Big Band, Crosstown Jazz, theatrical pit bands (Fantastiks, Nick DeNoia, Pete Barbutti), and various industrial shows. In 1986, in Peru, he had the privilege of jamming with members of Irekere, and Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez. Luke Turner (bass)

Luke grew up in Cincinnati, and started playing bass at Walnut Hills High School, where he played in both the orchestra and jazz band. He then minored in string bass performance at Miami University. He has played in a wide variety of bands encompassing many musical styles including classical, jazz, hip-hop, funk, rock, bluegrass and ska. He draws influence heavily from all of these genres including Bill Evans, J.S. Bach, David Bowie and The Wu Tang Clan. He has toured in Cincinnati ska band, The Pinstripes, and has opened for bands such as The Fray, The English Beat, and The Cat Empire. Luke currently studies classical bass with CSO member Rick Vizachero, freelances around Cincinnati and plays at the Lucky Turtle with Finneytown Music Workshop every Wednesday night.

Dave McKinney (drums)

Dave McKinney, a Cincinnati native, started musical studies with Mr. Jack Welbaum of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and studied with Andy Brady of Western Hills HIgh School. After serving in the Army, he played with Cincinnati legend Smokin' Joe Kowis, Cecil Young Big Band (for 15 years), Blue Chip City Big Band, Monday Night Big Band, and Seven Sharps Big Band.
