A red ale with caramel and what I’d call unusual for a red ale, chocolate flavors. It’s definitely a different take on a red ale.

I’m ready for a Scotch Ale after that IPA. This one has good sweet malty & caramelly flavors, just not quite up to the level of a Warped Speed. So I’ll rate it a little lower, good 6.3% ABV though.

I don’t want to put beer in my suitcase so that means morning drinking. This is a malty & caramelly Amber Ale, good flavor, mild at 5.0% ABV. Another from Rick in Ottawa.

A light one before heading to the “Heineken” only race track, this Kolsch is typical of the style, clean, crisp & sweet. Thanks Rick.

A new take on this brewery’s Scotch Ale, they added honey from buckwheat flowers to make it sweeter yet, still very malty too. And how about a 10.8% ABV?

I need a Stout after enduring the rain & cold this afternoon. This one has good roasty chocolate/coffee flavors, nice 6.4% ABV.

Skipping Practice 3 at the track, too much rain, so a hotel beer. This is a great blueberry blonde, it reminds me of the good one from Delta Beer Lab. Another from Rick in Ottawa.

Here’s something different, a Rum Ale, which is actually a Brown Ale with nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla & molasses to give it the flavors of spiced rum. Very tasty and comes in at 7.3% ABV.

Might as well start early in the hotel, the track action starts late today. Another beer from Ottawa from Rick, an IPA that has grapefruit citrusy flavors, even though they call it a West Coast IPA.

Now to some beer from Ottawa from my friend Rick, this is a fairly typical Kolsch, malty, sweet but light, good flavor for a lighter beer.
