Bourbon County Brand Caramella Wheatwine (2020) by Goose Island Beer Co.

Ok, one more... This is just as scrumptious as it was during release. Apple, cinnamon and caramel; balanced and clean. Bourbon is still the focus and dazzles. Man, I hope the boys make it to Prop Day this year.

...the last hurrah... This is Excellent! All Dem juncts with strong barrel and deep base stout. Just need that sketchy massage to finish it off!

Never met an OP I didn't love. A bit on the sweet side, but it features the barrel well without taking away from the base Life. Go Irish, Beat Boilers!

Silencio by Wicked Weed Brewing

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a Silencio by Wicked Weed Brewing at Insanity

2015 OG. How did this actually hold up? No clue, but I'll take it. Of course, the coffee is completely gone, bit the sour and nilla are there and it still tastes great! Weird.

BANE: Coconut Coffee by Incendiary Brewing Company

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a BANE: Coconut Coffee by Incendiary Brewing Company at Insanity

Not quite Burial-level adjuncts, but coconut and coffee are there with a killer base. A tad boozy, but not harsh. For 15%, this is just what the doctor ordered for tonight.

Evan B. Inspired me to bust it open. Definitely prefer it fresh. This has thinned out a bit and lost some of that brownie batter quality. Still plenty of vanilla and bourbon though.

Suffer by The Veil Brewing Co.

Thick, syrupey. Bourbon and AB are present, but they sorta cover the coconut a bit and a sugary aftertaste persists. Really good, but a hair sweet for me.

Reminds me of the first Mexi Cake I had in 2015 in NYC. Lingering spiciness well after each sip. Brings out the cocao and cinnamon for sure.

The Miller's Toll (Evan Williams Honey Bourbon Barrel) by Raleigh Brewing Company

Ryan Romanowski is drinking The Miller's Toll (Evan Williams Honey Bourbon Barrel) by Raleigh Brewing Company at Insanity

I thought this a fitting beer for time and place. Held up well. Barrel has calmed and smoothed as well as the anise in the malts. Lots of good memories laid to rest.

Dry hop adds sort of a dusty finish to the oak from the barrel. Still worth trying once. I'll stick of the malts for my Barleywines.

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery

Ryan Romanowski is drinking an Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery at Insanity

Vanilla and booze has evened out nicely, but really hasn't added much to the WWS base that ages well already. Enjoyable, but the nilla was sadly lost of this brew for me. The elder base stout is what keeps this in the 4's for me.

Stacking Casks (Blend #5) by Kane Brewing Company

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a Stacking Casks (Blend #5) by Kane Brewing Company at Insanity

This whole series is just bonkers... Life flows through Kane and seemingly no one in NJ wants to partake. Fine by me! This is barrels of fun; bourbon rye cognac and port everywhere wrapping a Werther's base that always holds its own.

If You're A Bird by Phase Three Brewing

Mmmm.... I hope a BA version is forthcoming. As a straight pastry, this delivers! Plenty of coconut, smooth, unsweetened. The panela brings back that Prop '14 vibe, which,of course, we all like.

Bottle this time. Maybe the best "aged" Mexi Cake I've ever had. Peppers are still kicking and the nilla extract seemed to have preserved all of the other juncts!

Suffolk County Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co.

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a Suffolk County Stout (2021) by Goose Island Beer Co. at Insanity

Underrated. This one is drinking very well right now. Forget it's a derivative of BCBS. I think they nailed the English-style stout that has been whiskey BA & presented a brew that sticks to it's malts & doesn't make excuses for American over-endulgence.

Port Omna (Peppermint Vanilla) (2021) by Kane Brewing Company

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a Port Omna (Peppermint Vanilla) (2021) by Kane Brewing Company at Insanity

Found this in the crisper, forgot it was there. Far from the worst peppermint stout I've had for sure. It's no Burial peppermint stout for sure! Body is thin, but handles the unsweetened mint and nilla well enough. Kane always has a flare for balance!

Ryan Romanowski is drinking a Stacking Casks (Blend #4) by Kane Brewing Company at Insanity

Oh yeah... Although the Yanks are a waste this season, I have excellent Kane Life to keep me going. AB barrel kicks this old ale into high gear. Taking that odd finish and adding green apple to keep it honest. The rye notes distinguish this from the rest.
