Good barrel nose on this. Licorice, tobacco, oak, and burnt coffee nose. Drinks old school super barrel forward. Pretty boozy finish.

4.15 This beer was super impressive 4 years ago. This one doesn’t quite live up to my memory of the previous. Still solid. Marshmallow nose with some cinnamon. Palate is chocolate cinnamon and a bit drying. Thanks for your he pickup Sigrid B.

4.85. This is fantastic. Nose is roasty chocolate and coconut cream, palate is thick oily layers of roasty chocolate and coconut. Dries out in the finish and makes you want another sip. Perfect cool summer night stout.

3.9 Nose is bit musty funk and barrel, not much fruit comes through. Palate is better. Muscadines and a watermelon rind note comes through.

This is fantastic. Thickest SG beer I’ve had. Nose is a 5. Smells like a bourbon soaked pecan, dipped in chocolate cake batter and sprinkled with cinnamon. Palate isn’t as complex but still a solid bourbon, chocolate, cinnamon stout.

Nose is tart fruit and oak. Palate is better than the nose. Very soft and drinkable. Awesome color too. Good night cap.

Barrel Aged Coconut Hazelnut Cordial Slumber Party Stout by Southern Grist Brewing Company

Thick great mouthfeel. There is a fruity note in this throwing me off from what I thought it would be. Something cherry or citrus. There is some coconut, lots of chocolate, then something orange-y on the finish.

4.65 Nose on this is fabulous, smells like a cinnamon raisin bagel on top of a bourbon barrel. Palate cranks the cinnamon to a 10. A little more thin than the derivation.

Derivation (Blend #17) by Side Project Brewing

Grady Stout is drinking a Derivation (Blend #17) by Side Project Brewing at House of Stout

Nose is awesome dark fruit and deep oak on top of chocolate milk. Vanilla and fudge palate followed by an insane amount of barrel presence. This is as good a barrel notes I’ve had on a beer. Tons of barrel complexity with none of the burn/boozy notes.

4.15 This is really unique. Its really floral yet pastry (think pie crust) on the nose. Drinks like fall spice and floral. Probably the least amount of honey I’ve had on a pips. I would never guess guava but I still like it.

Good nose, layers of berries, touch of medicinal funk, and barrel. On the acidic side but not too acidic. Nose is vibrant, palate is a bit more subtle. Drinks easy with a lots of berries and barrel.

4.35 This is solid. Actually reminds me of BA Vanilla Truffle from Trillium from back in the day. Barrel and Vanilla on the nose. Drinks creamy vanilla and chocolate milk. It’s super roasty as well. Finishes with a bit of barrel bitterness.
