Gotta have one of my favourite WA IPAs on IPA Day. Great as always.

Belgian Black IPA by Pirate Life Brewing

The IPAs continue on IPA Day. A Belgian yeast BIPA. This mostly works, if a bit too sweet. The esters from the yeast are great, really prominent and mix nicely with the fruity hops. But the roast of the malt & the finishing bitterness is a bit lacking.

Choc-Coconut Porter by Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.

Something in the aroma of this isn't right. Not getting chocolate or coconut but a strange off smell (brine-y?). The choc and coconut flavour are quite subtle and the malt quite thin. Combined with the off aroma, there isn't much to love.

Marlin Rouge by Wilson Brewing Company

Says it's a hazy red NEIPA. Not sure about all of that, but it is a nice red ale. Nice soft malty base, fruity, citrus hops and no real bitterness to speak of. Good easy drinking beer.

Mandarin Sour by Mountain Goat Beer

Mild sour with an adequate mandarin citrus flavour. Does the job. To be fair, probably not drinking it at the best time of the year.

Peanut Butter Imperial Stout by Deeds Brewing

3rd time I've had this, 3rd time I've loved it. I think ladt years probably had more peanut flavour, but this still does the chocolate peanut dessert stout thing so well. Only Bacchus does this better.

Middle Sibling IPA by Sea Legs Brewing Co.

Sea Legs Brewing were good enough to send us out some beers from QLD after my check-in on their canned GABS beer was very 'forthright'. Really cool of them. This first one is great, fresh juicy citrus up front and then resiny & bitter to finish. Nice WC.

I may have gotten overexcited during Dry July when I heard that they were doing another batch of Redliner and got a cube in... Such a great imperial red ale, but i think this years Red Carpet has got it beat.

West Coast Double by Otherside Brewing Co.

Big, sweet malt and juicy tropical hops (presumably the Mosaic) upfront before it shifts to dank resin and moderate bitterness to finish. Nice DIPA, glad I got a 4-pack.

Very smooth stout. Still has a nice amount of roast and a hint of chocolate but it's so easy drinking.

Vacation Rental Cold IPA by Sunday Road Brewing

The description of the Cold IPA style sounds a lot like an IPL, just with a warmer ferment for the lager yeast. New style or just a rebrand? The beer is damn good though, massive sweet and juicy hops (citrus & stonefruit), crisp and a light bitterness.

Playground Non Alcoholic IPA by vandeStreek bier

My last day of Dry July before 5 days off work! Looking forward to both. Last NA beer is a cracker, one of the best I've had. Fruity, juicy hops, decent body, hint of bitterness. Hard to tell there's no booze. Very nice.
