Can't believe this was just sitting on the shelves at the Binny's in algonquin. Sweet, rye spice, incredible barrel...probably would be a 5 if vsoj didn't do it better.

Really loved the adjuncts, especially the blackberry. Sometimes wax wings stouts get too cloying, but the blackberry really cuts the sweetness.

The flavor had a nice caramel apple thing going on. The barrel presence was okay, but I would've expected more considering how long it sat in the barrel. Regardless, this was an excellent barleywine.

I was so hyped for this, but it's way too thin. The thin base seemingly picks up more bourbon than barrel. It almost tastes like a stout mixed with bourbon rather than a stout that has aged for a while. The rich chocolate finish is nice though
