Southern Basil, our most popular warm-weather beer, is an ever-changing feast for the senses and a 2019 Good Food Award winner.

This year, we're thrilled to release the beer much earlier than usual, thanks to a partnership with vertical farming company 80 Acres Farms. We'll transition to locally farmed basil in July, per usual, once local basil is ready to harvest -- 80 Acres Farms is simply allowing us to extend the season and have a better answer to the oft-asked question, "When will Basil be ready?"

Saison yeast loves warm brewing temperatures, responding with a full-on punch of peppery, vibrant flavors. It'll be fun to compare vertically grown with locally grown basil this year, and hopefully for years to come! Read Less

A touch of haze. A ton of tropical hops. And just the right amount of bitterness to even it all out. Humidity is a bright and juicy Hazy without the thick mouthfeel of most new-world hazies -- a reliable "always in the fridge" Hazy.

If you liked Humidity as a pale ale, we think you'll love it as a 6.5% Hazy. We eliminated the triticale (wheat/rye hybrid), which added a rustic quality to the beer, and shifted hops from piney to tropical. With these slight changes, the name and the flavor profile align perfectly for the season: bright, sunny, tropical.

Over the years, we've built a robust network of native persimmon foragers and gatherers. We're now in the fortunate position of having more persimmons than we can use for our winter ale, First Frost -- and there’s only so much persimmon pudding we can bake.

But what if we took First Frost, added more malt, folded in SpiceFix cinnamon, clove, and ginger, and aged the beer for a year in stainless and brandy barrels?

Behold Hard Frost: a heartier, hard-spiced, brandy barrel-aged, native persimmon strong ale.

Persimmon (Diospyros Virginiana) — literally, “fruit of the gods.” Sweet and savory, with natural notes of cinnamon and apricot, the orange-globed persimmon fruit truly is heavenly. But it’s not until after the first frost that persimmon turns from astringent and bitter to a luscious fruit worthy of the gods.

Fullsteam's forager network supplies hundreds of pounds of native persimmons -- a bountiful yield that produces a complex, fruit-forward, award-winning winter ale. The beer’s notes of holiday spices come entirely from the native persimmon and the beer’s Belgian ale yeast.
