Maxime B. is drinking a This One by Stray Dog Brewing Co. at Downtown Ottawa
Randy is drinking a Blackstone Porter by Driftwood Brewery at Downtown Ottawa
Dark chocolate, café au lait, and just the merest hint of charcoal.
Randy: One of the better bangs for the buck in this world of increasingly over-priced beers.
Fri, 20 Apr 2018 22:24:35 +0000
steve: Season porter. Sounds good.

Randy is drinking an Orange Creamsic Ale by Railway City Brewing at Downtown Ottawa
The can promised orange zest and vanilla beans which sounded delicious. What I got was quite disappointing.
Randy: Tastes like a mildly enhanced lager. Meh.
Fri, 20 Apr 2018 20:23:50 +0000
Randy: Not everything you try will be a hidden gem.
Fri, 20 Apr 2018 21:27:57 +0000
steve: I have liked some vanilla flavor ipas, but usually they are rancid fake tasting messes.

Randy: Plus I keep them refrigerated. Going to pick up some more this week. Will check canning date on bottom. Thanks for the tip.
Wed, 18 Apr 2018 00:43:42 +0000
steve: Good to hear that they keep. Might buy more!

Wed, 18 Apr 2018 01:04:08 +0000
Randy: Oh I bought more than 6..... with more to come. :-)
Wed, 18 Apr 2018 01:08:28 +0000
Randy: Just picked up 8 more. Canning date March 26th, so only 23 days ago. That's great with the LCBO in the equation. Cheers.

Matt C. is drinking a Beam Me Up by Grand River Brewing at Downtown Ottawa
Nice! A little bit butter scotchy but mild and tasty. Solid beer.
Matt C. is drinking a Bitter Waitress by Shillow Beer Company at Downtown Ottawa
This is really good. Bold, boozy, and nice bitter coffee flavour. Fun to drink.
Laurie J. is drinking a Red Fife Wheat Beer by Lowertown Brewery at Downtown Ottawa
Matt C. is drinking a Doc Perdue's Boxing Bruin by Cowbell Brewing Co. at Downtown Ottawa
Delicious! Nice fruit notes come through in this one. Definitely a good beer to quench your thirst. A good summer IPA.
Randy is drinking a Latitude & Longitude Raspberry Barrel Aged Saison by Innis & Gunn at Downtown Ottawa
A little His & Hers beer sharing. Very nice Saison characteristics livened up by the influence of the raspberries.
Randy: Laura is liking it. Big fan of raspberries.
Wed, 11 Apr 2018 22:10:36 +0000
steve: Sounds good. Always good to split a beer.

Randy is drinking a Life In the Clouds by Collective Arts Brewing at Downtown Ottawa
Just a damn fine, New England style, juice bomb. Highly gulpable, with a manageable abv.
steve: Summer can't come too soon. I'm saving my next refreshing ipa no. 5 for bbq weather. I'll look out for this one when 1 beer just isn't enuff
Tue, 10 Apr 2018 21:38:27 +0000
Randy: Summer is certainly dragging its ass. These beers make up for it though. Cheers.

Randy is drinking a Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) by Founders Brewing Co. at Downtown Ottawa
Chillin' with The Masters and the best stout in the world.
steve: Heard grandson of Jack got a hole in one.
Fri, 06 Apr 2018 23:30:02 +0000
steve: I tried having two of these tiny bottles the other day. I think I got hungover.
Fri, 06 Apr 2018 23:30:47 +0000
Randy: Oh you can't drink two of these in one sitting. Like drinking a bottle of wine in an hour and a half. Ill advised.
Fri, 06 Apr 2018 23:36:59 +0000
Hitting the spot after a crazy day at work.
steve: I saw this at the store, but I got some other beers in the fridge to finish first. Looks like ipa5 will be readily available here.

Randy is drinking a Lady Friend IPA by Elora Brewing Company at Downtown Ottawa
A fruity and fairly sweet (almost sugary) IPA. Very easy to drink.
steve: An English ipa with New Zealand hops. Strange. Makes me question what is the difference between an English ipa and other ipa.
Sat, 31 Mar 2018 21:38:41 +0000
Randy: I'd say the English IPAs are more balanced between hops and malts.
Sat, 31 Mar 2018 21:40:09 +0000
Randy: Grabbed a few different ones from Elora.
Sat, 31 Mar 2018 21:45:36 +0000
Randy is drinking a Mash Up the Jam by Collective Arts Brewing at Downtown Ottawa
I was expecting a stronger hop presence given it is a dry hop sour and has Mosaic. Not getting a lot to differentiate it from other sours.
Randy: I believe you are right. We must have reached for it at almost the exact same time.
Fri, 30 Mar 2018 20:17:33 +0000
Randy: I've come to realize I don't care for apple characteristics in my beer.
Fri, 30 Mar 2018 20:19:52 +0000
Randy: Sour ones, yup.
Fri, 30 Mar 2018 20:22:39 +0000
steve: The only wild ale that didn't remind me of apple cider was a blackberry one.
