A fleeting soapiness in the first mouthful but it would be unfair to add that to the flavour profile as it was gone by the next gulp. First one poured today? I would hope not but you never know! Otherwise it's as previously noted. Not great but v. decent.

At last! Cask! And it's decent, if not amazing. Tastes better once it's settled. That's the trouble with "the North". You always get it through a sparkler! 😀😀 Bitter, hoppy in the English style, fruity, malty, warm. Strong-tasting for the abv. Nice!

Been out for a stroll to stretch my legs after our 6 hour 16 minute drive today. View is from Standish looking towards Orrell. Rather beautiful in an austere, freezing my bollocks off, January kind of way. Beer is as good as before. Warmer, more flavour.

Two for a fiver. Decent price. The nose is more hoppy than the flavour but it's clean and fresh and lightly bitter. It's not great but it's up there with the San Miguel, which is not saying a lot I guess. Still, I can alternate between the two! 😀

Andy Turpin: Drinking for Ukraine R. I did find it quite expensive over there mate, I have to say! By the time you've paid local tax and then a tip your $7.99 beer has cost you $10 or $11!!!! At least here your £7 pint will cost you £7. And you'll get 20 oz not 16!!

Up in Lancashire to visit our eldest daughter and family. Staying at a Premier Inn. As usual with these places the beer choice is crap! Plumped for this, this being probably the least worst of all worlds. 😀 Decent enough although I've had better.
