The grapefruit version is an obvious attempt to mimic Sculpin, and it's not bad. Sculpin has a pineapple versoon too, so the trend continues. This is a little heavier on the fruit, but again, not bad. A bit medicinal.
Drank plenty of these back in my Ratebeer days. It's been a while. Don't know if I've entered a maibock in Untapp'd. Looks, smells and tastes pretty much how I remember. Sweet malt, fruity yeast esters, and a hint of medicine in the finish.
I don't like gun. But I seem to like gin spices in beer. Spicing a hefe takes it a step closer to its first cousin, the wit. And it works, although the finish is thin.

A scotch ale from Scotland, aged in scotch casks. What could possibly go wrong? More active pour than I expect from a scotch ale. And it doesn't want to settle! After a 10 minute wait, the beer is anti-climatic. Not bad, just not much happening.

Thanks Si. Mild aroma, but the sherry is there. Doesn't taste like it smells. The sherry comes through in a richer way, not tannic at all. It's just a piece of the puzzle, though. A nice surprise.Earned the Sky's the Limit (Level 43) badge!
