Big malty beer with lots of caramel/toffee. The red wine barrel provides an earthy backdrop to the malty sweetness. Unfortunately, I don't seem to get much of the described "dark fruit"... just a hint. A very drinkable beer...

I think that I might rate this higher after 6-9 months or more. It needs some time to mellow., as it is pretty boozy. That being said, I like the flavors of cinnamon and raisin... I do get the raisin, definitely. I'll drink my other one LATER. 😊

Bourbon barrel is most evident with just a hint of the red wine. The wine provides an interesting, woody counter flavor to the sweetness of bourbon aged Impy. Quite good!!

Not nearly as sweet as I feared. Definitely has the brown sugar and Pecan... particularly the latter. You can still taste the very fine Big Bang base... something that I'm very fond of.

VERY different than the bourbon barrel aged beers. Mezcal is not so much a strong flavor, but an interesting flavor profile. I don't taste the mescal as much as I get the unique barrel flavor of that liquor. Interesting and good!

Amazed at the depth of flavor coming from some of the BS beers. This one is an excellent example... medium sweet, aggressive bourbon nose and flavor, but it melds perfectly with the roasty stout and the marshmallow... Awesome!!

After reading a number of reviews, I decided to drink this beer at almost room temp... and I'm glad I did. All expected flavors were present and in the expected/hoped levels. Not too sweet. Strong coconut. Some coffee/chocolate. Hint of cinnamon.

I would say that the barrel aging is pretty much dpot on. The flavor of the "old ale" is still present in the end. Masterfully done... really enjoyed this one!

Whoa... getting the cork outta the 375ml was a PITA... and then over carbonated... 🙄 Decent barleywine. The malbec is dominate, but enhances the flavor of the base beer. Nice one!
