This just strays a little down the fruit cocktail side for me wth big chunks of pineapple against a sweet melon base. Very little bittering present and while that makes it supremely quaffable it leaves it a little bit as short of depth and memorability

Very deep amber hue for what is quite a light pale / golden ale . Benefits from a decent malty backbone that sits well against hoppy tropical highnotes. Well balanced and light but with a big enough body to keep this interesting and rich.

Very citrussy and a big weight to it thanks to that big punchy ABV. Touch of earthiness underpins the gravity and stops it running away and being too much of a tropical juice fest. Hints of candy floss and candied sweets against grapefruit and orange

I mean, it does beg the question 'what sort of lager?'. It's like calling every sea bird with white feathers 'a gull', no? Presents like a Pilsner in terms of hue and pellucidity, doesn't have enough bitter snap in the finish, where it's more Helles-like.

Andrew: Interesting! Side pours are everywhere at the moment, aren't they? I've no doubt that there's a potential for aroma/flavour variation as a consequence, it doesn't get enough attention. Ditto temperature, ditto glassware.

It's been quite a while since we hung out at the Gees, and this was much-needed after 'Riefenstahl' at the Connaught. Jaysus. Style-wise, UB smashing it here. Full flavour profile, superb condition. Really do need to get to Arcadia when we're SW.

I really should like this rhubarb and beer . I read it's forced rhubarb so it's more acidic than maincrop and whilst this is clearly a sought after product in Feb /March it's far too acidic for brewing with imo
