Yeast: US-Ale\r\n\r\nThe story of rhumballs \u2013 the pastry, not the beer - is a long and strange one. At one time in history, a Danish baker contemplated that it was a waste of money just to throw out cakes and pastries that went unsold. Instead, he crumbled up all these leftovers into his huge dough mixer with an addition of cocoa powder and fruit jam to get the perfect moist sticky texture. This dough would then be rolled into balls the size of a small golf ball and finished off with sprinkles, either all brown ones or multicolored. And voil\u00e0, now you had a confectionery that was bizarrely named a \u2018truffle', as if it was a rare and sophisticated product. Well, it was not \u2013 it was a second-hand pastry made of old, stale cakes. But these truffles would soon be immensely popular with kids and students alike, as they were cheap \u2013 and extremely filling. Then at some point, another baker came up with the idea of adding a dash or two of Caribbean rhum to this crumbled up pastry blend and voil\u00e0, the rhumball was created. Rhum or not, for decades this creation had a cult like following - not quite confectionery, not quite pastry \u2013 somewhere in between. Then came the National Danish Rhumball Championship. And suddenly the interest exploded. G\u00e6r: London Fog.\r\n\r\nIt seems like only yesterday when we released Batch 1000, a beer that turned out to be one of our most successful IPAs ever, and a beer which seems to have a cult following that insist on us bringing it back \u2013 which we have done, several times. And before that, there was Batch One and Batch 500 in what now seems like ancient times, and later Batch 2000 followed. But now we're already at Batch 3000. We chose some of our favorite hops, some of which you may recognize from Batch 1000 and used them in a fashionably hazy IPA. But a BIG IPA.\r\nWe would love to dedicate this beer to the true Amager Bryghus fans. To those who show up at our events whether at the brewery or at festivals all across the world, and those that appreciate our beers and what we stand for.
