Vik is drinking an Ashanti (2023) by Brasserie Cantillon at Biercafé Au Trappiste
Green herbal grassy pepper on the nose with a moderately unpleasant lavender soapy note. Really nice mouthfeel and body as always. Soapy on the palate as well. Bitterness profile is unfortunately at odds with the herbal pepper notes.

Mango sorbet and fresh green papaya on the nose. Beautiful Cantillon mouthfeel and body. Restrained acidity. Mango sorbet dominates the palate.Noticeable salinity that just adds to the overall drinkability and balance.Really nice bitterness profile. Clean

Nose: Red fruit, fresh cracked pepper, leather, vanilla, some dark chocolate, and some grassiness. Some barrel ‘glue’ as this warms. Red fruit, pepper, leather and dustiness dominate the palate.Very restrained acidity, tannins balance everything. Salinity

Vik is drinking an Oude Geuze (Vieille) (2021) by Oud Beersel at Untappd at Home
Probably best described as an illegitimate love child of 3F and Girardin: hard cheese, dustiness, leather, some green apple notes and a tiny bit of metallic notes mostly on the nose. Nice, spritzy mouthfeel. Some minerality on the palate with some hoppine

Tons of hard cheese and dusty funk with leather and beautiful grassy cheesy aged hop aromas. Theres definitely some minerality as well; the pale ale malt contributes some raisiny malty aromas with a slight metallic note. Will probably continue to age well
