Stopped into the General Store on our way to the shore and stocked up for the cottage. They had the 2017 vintage in the cooler, and it’s all chocolate. Age has rounded all the sharp edges, leaving a complex flavor profile showcasing cacao and licorice.

Delicious BA stout. It really fits the style of the food here, too, which includes a number of dishes from smokehouse. Cocoa and bourbon and oak are the dominant flavors, as expected.

Short’s has quickly become one of my favorite Michigan breweries. This IPA is a classic. Honeydew up front followed by grapefruit. The nose is pleasantly piney.
