Chris Johnston: More coconut less folgers
Nicholas Hess is drinking a Double Barrel Reverberant (2024) by Side Project Brewing
This beer honestly has no flaws. It’s light years better than 2024 MJK and while the price still sucks, it’s also light years better in comparison. More this, less amburana and $70 price tags.

D8 to the core. Like D8 it’s good not great. Well balanced and an easy drinker for a “pastry”. People hating this just want a mouthful of coconut
Nicholas Hess: Chris J. Did you have it on tap? If so that makes more sense. I’ve never enjoyed SP stouts on tap vs from bottle. Always more roasty/ hoppy/ bitter
Chris Johnston: Yeah on tap at stout week. Passed on the bottle as a result

Brett Oude bruin/ low ABV Quad with cherries. De Dolle aceto In the background. Pretty sexy beer and one that’s pretty complex should you give it your attention.

Pretty let down by this batch. Watery and zero malt backbone. Blind there is zero chance I call this a helles.
Nicholas Hess is drinking a Double Barrel Derivation (Double Willett Double Tanzanian) by Side Project Brewing
Somewhere between 4/4.25, a not so favorable astringency on the finish and begs for a touch of sweetness. Very good no doubt but not great.

Matt: That 24 MJK is such a disappointment, especially with how much better all of their other recent BWs have been, sans anab b7
