Enjoyable but thin for a BA stout, almost more like a porter. The whiskey comes through more than the wood, which probably has to do with the short (3 month) aging time. Still, not bad for the price.

I guess the Monkish hype is real. This was amazing, smooth, citrusy, and balanced. All the hop flavor without the bitterness. Wish it was easier to get!

One of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. Barrel, coffee, maple, cinnamon, and a nice lingering heat. The maple sweetness and chili heat play off one another perfectly.

Nice notes of honey and barrel but it was hard for me to get past the bitter/sour/tannic aftertaste. Leans more toward barleywine than stout. Solid, but probably not revisiting for the price.
