Matt Libera is drinking a 9 Luppoli American IPA by Birrificio Angelo Poretti at Cecio Ristorante Pensione
American style IPA, west coast I’d say. It has an almost classic Italian pils start but quickly asserts the hop flavor and bitterness. Floral, earthy hops, with a slight sweetness I can’t place at the finish. A nice European take on the IPA.

Matt Libera is drinking a Birra Agricola Artigianale by Originis at The Heart of Cinque Terre
Cold, crisp, and refreshing. Great for a 90+ degree day…. Wonderful that it’s made right here.

Matt Libera is drinking a Logan 5959 by Monpiër de Gherdëina at Goldenes Rössl (Cavallino D’Oro)
I’m surprised. It’s 1) a German / Italian brewery doing an American IPA and 2) it’s west coast style and 3) I quite liked it. Piney / floral notes prevail but some of the nice German style malt backs it. On par with the WC selection back home I’d say.

I really like this. Brewed here in the Dolomites, and you don’t find many Rauchbiers in the US. Great dinner companion along with this view!

Solid, if nondescript. Nice and clean, malty. Cool to try the local stuff.
