Morten E. is drinking a Three Dimensional by The Eighth State Brewing Company at Basement Beer Bar
Must admit that adjuncted barleywines in general make me a bit skeptical.. But this one surprised me in a good way! Clear BW profile.. Toffee & dates dominates.. A pleasant boozyness, depth & complexity saves the sweetness from being overpowering..
Morten E. is drinking a Permanence by Tree House Brewing Company
BL Near perfect integration of coffee & maple here.. Solid base & at very subtle lactose presence.. Medium velvety texture..
Morten E. is drinking a Dragon Mask Aged In Rye Whiskey Barrels W/ Vanilla by Modern Times Beer at Basement Beer Bar
BL The combination of vanilla & rye is done to a T here.. Amplifying elements from the base.. Tobacco & leather.. Velvety smooth texture..
Morten E. is drinking a Henna: Co3 by More Brewing Company at Basement Beer Bar
Light adjuncts integration, leaving room for the solid base to shine.. Let it warm a bit, for all adjunct to claim their right.. Nice velvety texture..
Morten E. is drinking an Anniversary Bourbon County Brand Stout (2020) by Goose Island Beer Co. at Basement Beer Bar
BL 4.60! Smooth barrel character, adding complexity + depth & with less char & edge, compared to 18’ & 19’ reserve.. Just a tiny bit better texture than overall for BCBS.. A joy to drink 🤤
Morten E.: Impressed for a non BA as well. A touch of salinity & white tea in the finish.
