I’ve never had rocky road ice cream, but this is perhaps the best of their dessert stouts so far. The foretaste is delightfully sweet, slightly complex, and reminiscent in fact of sherbet dib-dabs w cherry notes. Aftertaste is coffeeish, a little bitter.

Very coffee is, rich, fulfilling. Not especially thick or heavy on the mouthfeel, definitely a porter not a stout in texture. Balanced from beginning to end. VG.

Salt is on the foretaste, the middle is pure dark chocolate and the aftertaste is bitter, perhaps slightly alcoholic in nature. Broadly in line with their other dessert stouts; super sweet and quite a great.

Try as I might, I will never “get” the stories that accompany each Heroes beer, written on the tin. At least this one has an intelligible name! Joking of course; I’m a big fan. This one is a little offbeat; jasmine is quite strong and maltiness notable.
