Every time I see a "malt liquor" on draft from a local brewery, I always think about the fact that my Dad noted that his father loved malt liquors, though the quality may have been noticeably different. This is malty, slightly sweet, and easy-drinking.

I love that I have found a Russian Imperial Stout from Norway to try, and this is an excellent example of a classic RIS. The roasty malts are slightly bitter and very rich, and it has a little bit of coffee flavor notes and sweetness as well.

I came to Maplewood today because this week they re-opened a kitchen. The Kraków Dip is outstanding, as is the side salad. I will definitely eat here again. This is dessert. Peanuts, chocolate, vanilla, and coffee. Complex, smooth, and wonderfully nutty.
