Haunted House label

Says "hoppy dark ale" on the label (black IPA, cascadian dark). Obvious from first sip it's a Belgian yeast. I feel conned by Allagash.

  • Phil Runco: I doubt Allagash brews any “clean” ale with something other than a Belgian strain.

  • Greg Piper: Maybe, but the clear implication of this label is "not Belgian." Hoppy dark means black (non-Belgian) IPA.

  • Phil Runco: The first line of copy on the can suggests the beer is: Porter (well-hopped dark ale) + Allagash House Beer (Belgian table beer).
