Fred Yaniga is drinking a Sachsengold Landbier by Mauritius Brauerei at Untappd at Home
East Germans had a lot of reasons to drown their sorrows for about 40 years, but they didn't do it with bad beer. "Sachsengold" reminds me of the legendary "Rheingold" of Wagnerian and Nibelungen lore. Not just river Elbe dregs, really good stuff.
Fred Yaniga is drinking a Skt. Martinus Doppelbock by Martinsbräu Marktheidenfeld at SophienBäck
Malzig, leichte Süße, tröpfelt den Hals hinunter undder Gaumen freut sich! Malty, lightly sweet, trickles down the throat and your palate celebrates!
Fred Yaniga is drinking an Oktoberfest Bier by Augustiner-Bräu München
Regensburger Kneipenbier - don't ask me, I'm just a tourist. A bit maltier than the Helles, but same color. Higher ABV at 6 3 but you don't realize it. That must be why they call it a Festbier (party beer).
Fred Yaniga is drinking a Raven 12 by Pivovar Raven at Le Frenchie náměstí
Another Czech pilsener in Plzen, but in contrast to its highly-filtered cousin (Pilsener Urquell), this beer is "naturtrüb", unfiltered and more bitter. Different than P.Ur, but I like it. Also, higher ABV for that added kick, in case you need it.
Fred Yaniga is drinking a Pilsner Urquell by Plzeňský Prazdroj at U Mansfelda
Fresh from the source in the heart of Czech beer brewing country, Plzn. Gloriously pure and light and subtly hoppy. Just the perfect beer in every way. How do you get this much flavor in a 4.4% beer?
Fred Yaniga: Did I mention 0.48 cents for the half liter bottle? Cheaper than water (almost).
