Slightly too warm as my esky hasn’t quite managed three days, but still rich and a bit like toffee apple or raspberry. Tricky day of overhanging branches, reeds and some portage. All part of the adventure. Has a voluntary swim - that was nice too.

Day 2 and no impromptu swim today. Had a shower though from a bag hanging in a tree. This is full of fruit, maybe mango or passionfruit, which sounds weird for the style, but honestly it is good!

My first experience with kolsch was 30 years ago in Koln - it was a warm summery day and I remember the fresh, grassy brightness. Now, older and wiser, while it is still clean and bright, it doesn’t do much for me.
