Matthew Campbell is drinking an Imperial Guava by Bellingham Cider Company at Brewers Row
A hint of funk (wicked for more!) and a touch of sweetness (wished for less!) but hits balanced and not out of character …that is, as advertised!
Matthew Campbell is drinking a Tropical IPA by Fermentation Initiative at Fermentation Initiative
Carolina pine forest with an aggressive hop bitterness. Old school. Like IPAs used to be. NOTE: When I checked this in, it read Piney IPA at 7.3%; however, now it shows as Tropical IPA. It is the former …not sure what is up with the tagging here…
Matthew Campbell is drinking a Tropical Lager by Fermentation Initiative at Fermentation Initiative
Not sure I’d have guessed lager. Juicy, overripe tropical fruit funk dominate. A bit light and the finish is quite short, though it does sneak back around to beckon you again… without other beers around, it lingers longer.

An absolutely delightful rep of this style with huge flavor for such low ABV. Like a bright, fruity kolsch with a soft, very slightly bitter lager finish.
Holding steady several months in. Might even bump up to 4.25. ABV is smoothly managed. Still falls off fairly quickly though you’ll be coming back soon enough, so not really an issue.
