Mark Scheitlin is drinking a 2024 Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout by Bainbridge Brewing at Bainbridge Brewing
Day 170: BA stout goodness and Amazon Prime NFL on the TV in a cozy spot in downtown Bainbridge Island. The beer starts out with sweet caramel flavors and finishes nutty, roasty, chocolaty and pleasantly bitter. Oh, and there’s bourbon in there, too.
Earned the Recappd – January 10, 2026 badge!
Mark Scheitlin is drinking a Quilter's Irish Death by Iron Horse Brewery at Sullys

Matt Murphy: Awesome pic!
Shane: Beauty of a pic
Mark Scheitlin: Thanks, guys! Hard to take a bad photo from our place in Suquamish.
Mark Scheitlin is drinking a Disturbing the Peace by Rainy Daze Brewing Company at Sullys
Day 162: Local beer with dinner. OK but without any distinguishing characteristics or notable flavors. Just another hazy IPA.

Earned the Haze for Days (Level 89) badge!
Mark Scheitlin is drinking a Big Ballard by Redhook Brewery at Agate Passage
Way back in the day (the 80s) when I was living in Hawaii, craft beer pickings were slim to say the least. We had Henry Weinhard’s and Pyramid and, of course, Redhook. The old Ballard Bitter became one of my favorites. This reincarnation isn’t bad either.
Purchased at Safeway
Shane: i was lucky to drink at their pub before they sold it
Matt Murphy: I used to drink at their old pub in Ballard. Fun place back in the 90’S
Mark Scheitlin: Fond beer memories are some of the best memories, Shane and Matt M.
I guess this is BIB’s first shot at a winter bock. And it’s a good one - tart apple and pear gives way to a bready-bitter finish.
