Albino Rhino by Prairie Artisan Ales

dan_i _am is drinking an Albino Rhino by Prairie Artisan Ales at Oklahoma City museum Of Art Roof Bar

I don’t know what this beer is. It makes the claim to be a stout with coffee, chocolate and vanilla. However, it’s not dark, not burnt, had no head, has no chocolate taste, has a a glance of coffee and a stare of vanilla. And I keep asking, why?

Painted Lady by Yellowhammer Brewing

As a tattooed dude, I always enjoy can art that honors the ink. Also, I’m a homer. So, when a local brewer puts out an excellent product, I’m happy to hype it. This is what a pale ale should be: lite, crisp, tasty, smooth, refreshing. Stuff the beach bag.

Vision Board Mixed Berry Sour by Crosstown Brewing Company

dan_i _am is drinking a Vision Board Mixed Berry Sour by Crosstown Brewing Company at Create Your Own Candy Bar

I think I’m getting jaded. I’m just not finding sours sour enough. Seems like we moved from Sours, to Sweet & Sour, and now we’ve reached SWEET & sour. I’m probably just a fuddy-duddy. But I’m growing weary of beer that tastes like candy. But crushable.

Paradise Punch Sour: V1 by Hi-Wire Brewing

dan_i _am is drinking a Paradise Punch Sour: V1 by Hi-Wire Brewing at Ka'anapali Tiki Bar

In the dark ages when I was a lad, Hawaiian Punch drink came in a big ol’ honking can that you opened with the sharp end of a church key. I put my lips to many of those cans and drank that sugary goodness. This beer tastes like that but not as sweet.

Sweet Baby Banana! by DuClaw Brewing Company

dan_i _am is drinking a Sweet Baby Banana! by DuClaw Brewing Company at Fat Boy's Bar-B-Que Ranch

Don’t you hate it when a favorite brewer produces what promises to be a kick-ass beer then fails to deliver? When DuClaw says banana has been added to the chocolate and peanut butter in their signature sweet baby porter, I salivate. But it’s bland. Lacks.
