Final nail in the coffin of IBU as a meaningful metric for beer. They say this is 125 IBU which you'd think is fearsome. But it's less bitter and more subdued than most Cascadians. Bitter, yes, but malty and roasty. Smooth and actually OK.
Didn't layer the way a classic black and tan would, but it's a cool mix that brings out characteristics of both the Gold cream ale and the Black porter. Malty sweetness with some roasty. Averaged out to a reddish brown color. Malty Dave Approved ☑
