Tom Smillie is drinking a Rascal King by Flipside Brewing at Flipside Brewing
Great beer now poured off a beer engine!!! Slightly warmer serving temp opens up malt notes and lets yeast esters shine. Smooth & creamy mouthfeel w/ tight pillowy head. Hops are earthy & less “sharp” due to decreased carbonation. Wonderful presentation!

Tom Smillie is drinking a Whoa, Nellie by Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Decent lager! A little cloudy, reminds me of a zwickel. Corn is kinda creamy yet noticeable up front. Was not sure if this was a Pre-pro or Mexi lags. Hops are pleasant…use of Liberty makes me think Pre-pro. Would pair well with spicy food options.

Tom Smillie is drinking a Huckleberry Haze by Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Nope. Too sweet and fruity for an IPA…wrong fruit. Huckleberry does not taste natural and IBUs do not hit IPA status IMO. Make this an American Wheat.
Tom Smillie is drinking a Bonita, Bonita by Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Not bad. Juicy and citrus notes. More unfiltered than hazy. Contract brewed but better than any Two Brothers “hoppy” beer!

Tom Smillie: Try this next to 5oz pour of Rascal King on tap. Carbonation increases perception of bitterness so hop profiles will be noticeable. Non-cask is a more herbal, floral pop that presents mid-late palate. Cask is harmonious throughout with a dry finish.
