Brian is drinking a Pale Lager by Sacred Profane Brewing at Millstone
This was beautiful. Crackery malts almost like the crust of a fresh loaf of French bread, perfectly balanced by lightly floral and spicy hops. Aroma and flavor matched. Clean, crisp, simple and complex at the same time. Can’t find a flaw.
Purchased at de fles winkel

Banana and spice aroma, hint of clove. Flavor matches, Belgian yeast notes over a a honey accented malt backbone. This beer always reminds me of France because so many times there this was the only decent beer option available. Really quite lovely.
Brian is drinking a Stone Pilot Series: Pilsner by Stone Brewing at Stone Brewing Tap Room
Pleasant crisp pils, some bittering floral hops. Wish the hops had been a bit more prominent.

Maybe my palate has evolved, but this really didn’t hit me like I remembered. Body seemed thinner and less “gummy,” and the hops less intense. Not bad at all, but not the liquid poem I remember.

Perfectly acceptable Baltic porter
