John Hansell is drinking a First Round Pick: Lilikoi by Bakes Brewing Company at The Ocean Club At South Mantoloking
Wow, featuring a single new New Zealand hop from Freestyle. Soft, pillowy, gently sweet, tropical fruit, and dangerously drinkable. I’m not a fan of the bolder, really aggressive Bakes releases, but this one is very impressive!

John Hansell is drinking a Bourbon Barrel Aged Mexican Dessert (2026) by Kane Brewing Company at The Ocean Club At South Mantoloking
My favorite Kane. Adjuncts are complex, beautiful balanced, but subtle—best slightly chilled. And in Kane style, it’s not overly sweet, making it very drinkable. A kiss of heat on the finish is the icing on the cake. Drink this one fresh.

John Hansell is drinking an Uncle Jack by Bakes Brewing Company at The Ocean Club At South Mantoloking
Nice balance of hop bitterness, citrus and melon fruit, and creamy malty sweetness. Easy drinking for 9%. I feared this would be very aggressive. It’s not.

It’s good. Still a tad aggressive to warrant a higher rating.

Nutty. Not much coconut though. Bakers chocolate on the finish. Perhaps a bit too much time in the barrel? Still enjoyable
