Brewery Ommegang: We intentionally went more in the direction of a classic English example of the style which is much less hop-driven than American examples.

Wonderful mouthfeel. Nicely balanced with a hop candy flavor, caramel malt sweetness and a clean, dry finish

I should probably stop rating. This was a fantastic Dubbel though. Been a while since I've enjoyed true Belgians. Caramel, fig, yeasty!

If you like IPAs and/or coffee, this is for you. Coffee isn't overpowering but the flavor is prevalent. Roasty, coffee, citrus, earthiness.

Phil H.: Brewery Ommegang Good to know! Despite my omission of a rating, (something I’m doing now) I did really enjoy it. Reminded me of an Old Ale

Phil H. is drinking a Stygian Descent (2016) Batch No. 02 by Stone Brewing
Complex beer. Went from super oakey and dank basement to dark, bitter choc, vanilla, boozy oak and an herbally finish. Find if you can
Wonderfully tart but not overpowering. Nice blackberry flavor and subtle salt. Very refreshing
