Hop is more pronounced in flavour than in aroma with mostly lemon leading the charge, tropical fruits being in the back seat and welcome appearance of strawberry in aftertaste. Malt support is great, however hop burn is bit much.
Giedrius9 is drinking a Kveik Culture: Alesmith by LERVIG at Untappd at Home
West Coast and Kveik aren’t usually a couple as Kveik suits hazys better, however if done with more classical malt forward WC - I could see it working. Yet this one lacks both malt & hop intensity, but some Kveik character does shine through in the aroma.
Giedrius9: L - beautiful deep gold ant 6 SRM, crystal clear, rocky off-white head with great retention. 3/3
Giedrius9: A - hop low-low/med - mint, citrus, faint hint of dragon fruit, strawberry with the impression of sweetness, slight onion, but its not a fault in WC. Some orange esters from Kveik. No malt. Hop too low, hop profile slighly off for WC. 8/12
Giedrius9: T - hop medium - citrus, herbal, some funk, hint of mango. No malt. Hint of alcohol. 40 IBU that tapers off after dry finish, citrus, orange, mango from hop in aftertaste. Lacks malt, would also like to find so Kveik character in flavour. 13/20
Giedrius9: P - Medium/high carbonization, hop bite, medium body, mouth coating. 5/5
Giedrius9: O - West Coast and Kveik aren’t usually a couple as Kveik suits hazys better, however if done with more classical malt forward WC - I could see it working. This one lacks both malt & hop intensity, but some Kveik character does shine thru in aroma. 6/10
Giedrius9: 35/50, for a very good Specialty West Coast!
Giedrius9 is drinking a ROPA Moonshine BA 2024 by Green Monster Brewery at Untappd at Home
Highly expressive in wild fermentation charcter via sawdust, sweatty socks, fecal matter. And it wouldn’t be a party without esters ranging from cherry to nectarine to melon blending well with the sourness.
Giedrius9: A - esters high - red currant, cherry, nectarine with the impression of sweetness. Phennols - slight and quite delicatele mustiness, sweaty socks sawdust and with more agressive swirl - fecal matter. Malt very low - breadcrust. Light alcohol.
Giedrius9: T - Esters medium - same descriptor. Phennols light- sewage. 20 IBU. Malt - n/a. Clean and sharp tartness getting bit agressively vineagary towards the finish which is dry. Aftertaste - melon, light bready malt.
Giedrius9: P - light/medium body, mouth coating, no carbonation.
Giedrius9: O - Highly expressive in wild fermentation charcter via sawdust, sweatty socks, fecal matter. And it wouldn’t be a party without esters ranging from cherry to nectarine to melon blending well with the sourness.
Giedrius9: If you ever asked yourself - how would Orval taste if it was a sour, this is it.
Giedrius9: Packaging - not sure what kind of blend was used to dip the bottle cap, but it was annoyingly hard to scrape off and it came bursting in peaces all over the place.

A classical and well executed west coast that presents mostly citrus qualities of hop both in flavour and aroma. Drinkability is great thanks to good carbonation, light-medium body and dry finish. Only one thing - malt is missing in flavour.

Giedrius9 is drinking a Louwee Kan Het Niet Aan by Dok Brewing Company at Untappd at Home
Examplary malt complexity is on display even for the style, it would go great with sugary body, however this is a hoppy take with medium bitterness, quite dry body and peppery hop bite. An intresing take, that heads a bit out of bounds for the style.
Dok Brewing Company: Tried to get the earthy, peppery and spicy notes from the BE Quads, without using spices
Giedrius9: Thanks for sharing the philosophy behind the beer! Seems like you did two interesting things: 1. You did a Hoppy Wee Heavy 2. You’ve went the Reinheitsgebot route by avoiding adjuncts like spices which are common for Belgian Christmas specialties
Giedrius9: If you’d declare these two things on the label as your intention it could make your beer stand out right on the store shelve! E.g. “A Hop Heavy” or “Hoppy Wee Heavy” or “Dry German Christmas”
Giedrius9: And then when the consumer or a judge in competition evaluates it – It would rate it as a base style(Wee Heavy) + your unique twists. Therefore – likely giving you even better score. 😊
Giedrius9: However now consumer simply seeing “Wee Heavy” on your label are likely to expect a classical sweet and malty Wee Heavy. 😊
Giedrius9: So all in all I think you have great ideas and are super creative with your recipes, therefore you should let that creativity shine right on the label and let the consumer know what kind of unique experience they can expect. :)
Giedrius9: L - Deep gold, 6 SRM, off-white somewhat rockyhead with okay retention. Retention should be atleast high. 2/3
