Abita comes out with a different Christmas Ale each year, so my opinion of this one is moot, but for a hoppy beer, I liked it pretty well. Nuanced spice, balanced flavor, maybe higher than average ABV (no info on the label). Look for it next year!

The honey is quite pronounced and a surprising flavor note, though I’m not sure it’s the right kind of sweetness for beer. I’ll try a couple and report back.

I wonder if the combination of a wheat beer and a double bock maybe wasn’t the best idea. This was a little hoppy for my taste, though it balanced pretty well with pizza and Oreos.
