Really nice flavours up front. Honeycombe and coffee are both there mingling with a burnt stout base. Sadly the flavour dies fast and it’s very thin.

Jan AFC Box 12/12. Saved till last, remembered this as being great. Not quite as good as I remembered. Not quite as sour. Still lovely hoppy aroma and gooseberry fruitiness at the end hides the common AF thinness a little.

Jan AFC Box 11/12. Missing that bananay aroma, but beautiful hazy look and the taste is great. Wheaty, citrusy and hints of hop and clove. Lovely mouthfeel. Second superb AF beer from this month from these guys. Hope there’s a hoppy IPA to come.

Jan AFC Box 10/12. Not tried something like this in years. Amazing colour, very yeasty and malty without being too sweet. Great to see this kind of beer get an AF version. Thinner than most Trappist beers, but not for an AF.

When you have a big pile of marking to do it’s time to crack open the last nice IPA you bought for Christmas, we’re too ill to have then, which has been hiding in the back of the fridge. Instant topical hop aroma the moment it’s cracked open. Superb.
