Whisky and grain on the nose. Light smoke follows. Some acidity. Lots of barrel. Vanilla. Peat. Some booze. A load of barrel. Everything amplifies as it warms up. A proper rich wee heavy.

Very good. Lots of chocolate and licorice. A burnt finish. Much more rounded than most czech darks.

Dai დაი is drinking a Honey Tripel - Big Ideas Series 33 by Simple Things Fermentations at Untappd at Home
Glorious colour. A honey-sweet tripel. Booze creeps up. Not super phenolic but has some of the expected twangs. Lower end of carbonation and bitterness for the style. An enjoyable modern take on a great classic style.

A dry hopped pilsner by traditionalists so not great balance. Fairly bitter and buttery. Probably a bit too much diacetyl for me. Much like Urquell - which is absolutely not as good as many non-Czechs think. Its drinkable.

I was once invited to my American butty’s thanksgiving and along with pumpkin pie we had pecan pie. This taste more like the latter than hazelnut. Rich, full, super aromatic and nutty soft. Creamy. Vanilla. Sweet and delightful. Liquid cafe desert.
