Victory Brewing Company by Black Forest Cake Stout

Dark chocolate/coffee/roasted malt aroma. Heavy malts and roasted flavors fade into juicy dark cherry sauce and chocolate cake notes. Rich.

Sharp pine and lots of hop bitterness. Malty and actually better as it warms. I would have guessed much higher than 64 IBUs

Nicely done. More oak than bourbon, but nice, tart grain mash with notes of sour cherry and jam.

Back to American beers 😭 A strange, but not offputting, tangy zip to this lager. A crisp, yeasty finish.

Last hurrah in Ireland and for fresh Guinness. Trip of a lifetime. Sláinte!

J.W. Sweetman by Red Ale

Conor M. is drinking a Red Ale by J.W. Sweetman at Buswell's

Kind of zippy. Great color and aroma - damp, fresh, earthiness and malt. Some lively hop character on the finish.

Barrelhead Brewery by Barrelhead Pale Ale

Citrusy American hops on the nose and up front, but it quickly turns very sweet and into an overwhelming English malt flavor.

The Open Gate Brewery by Brett Black Ale

Funky, funky Brett from aroma to finish. Some dark, smoky notes and a hint of toasted wood as well. I can tell this is a 'Merkan collab LMAO

Beach jawn. Cloudy and orange. Lots of lime zest and some mango at the end. Refreshing and easy to drink. Would be great in hot weather.

The Open Gate Brewery by Out of Africa

Ginger at first, then lingering heat on the back of the tongue from the chili. An unexpectedly good combo. Kind of wheaty as well.

The Open Gate Brewery by Mandarina Bavaria

A classic German lager. Light, faint citrus and banana notes. This would be a much bigger hit than the Hop House 13.

McGargles by Cousin Rosie's Pale Ale

Conor M. is drinking a Cousin Rosie's Pale Ale by McGargles at The Patriots Inn

Hoppy and floral, hints of grass. Mostly juicy citrus, though. Lingering bitterness, but an otherwise clean finish. American hops for sure.

Station Works by The Foxes Rock Red Ale

Conor M. is drinking The Foxes Rock Red Ale by Station Works at J.K. Stoutmans

Tangy and hoppy for an Irish red. Not bad, but kind of forgettable.

Guinness by Guinness Original XX

Conor M. is drinking a Guinness Original XX by Guinness at Arklow

Traditional Guinness flavor, but drinks like a porter. "Hoppy," roasty, and crisp, as described. Some ale yeast and very dry.

Galway Bay Brewery by Buried At Sea

Conor M. is drinking a Buried At Sea by Galway Bay Brewery at Wicklow / Cill Mhantáin

Exactly as described. "Decadent and complex," with balanced lactose sweetness and chocolate malt. The low ABV makes this highly sessionable.
