Jonah Berthelsen is drinking a Ruthless Rye IPA by Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. at Untappd at Home
There is a warmth to the scent of this beer, like brown sugar and peaches. The complexity of tasting notes is wild—not bursting with citrus like a hazy or a dank and bitter hop bomb like a west coast IPA, but perfectly balanced between them. Finishes well

Creamy. More complex than is common for the style, but still crushable. Super balanced.

Exploding nose of citrus, melon, grass. Taste notes of fresh cut grass, kiwi (pardon the pun), Granny Smith apple, and a present butter bite that lingers a bit in the back of the mouth. Doesn’t strike me as a classic West Coast IPA, but fun to try

Light lemon and buttered cracker on the nose. Same taste notes, with honey. Easy light drinking, and super effervescent, making for a crisp, satisfying finish.

Strong malty nose with hints of light brown sugar, rye whiskey, and winter pine. Taste follows the nose with sweet brown sugar the malt character. This develops into a complex maple and evergreen that fades to candied citrus. Not my usual, but really good
