Alex Low is drinking an OATH // OPULENT IMPERIAL STOUT by Northern Monk at Untappd at Home
Although I try to avoid Impys as much as I do lefties, I couldn't resist purchasing this 'damaged can' for a mere ยฃ2.59 (the lowest it 'can' be sold for in Shitland). And it's absolutely mind blowing, in a You talking to me kind of way. More words below๐
Purchased at M&S Simply Food
Earned the 2X (Level 9) badge!
Alex Low is drinking a Rocket by Marble Beers Ltd at Untappd at Home
This smelled great from the can and poured well but my suspicions were immediately raised when I saw the hoppy colour of it. And sure enough, it's one of those modern style bitters. Shame as was looking forward to it having enjoyed all prior Marble beers.
Purchased at Hop In Craft Beer
Alex Low is drinking a Red Kite by Vale Brewery at Three Judges
It's all go here for the FIFA Seth Blatter Cup with 'new' draft beer (Murphy's!) and revamped pump handles. Shame Scotland will be out by June 20th! Only decent one of three sampled here today. A sort of red ale traditional bitter melting pot of a beer.
Earned the You're Extra Special (Level 75) badge!
Alex Low is drinking an Ale by Exmoor Ales at Three Judges
What do you call an ale that you can't be bothered naming? Why, Ale of course! Another far too earthy for me 'ale' with very little actual taste. Which isn't surprising given the pointless name. Perhaps they forgot to adjunct this batch.
Alex Low is drinking a Pells Pale by Harvey's Brewery at Three Judges
Now, this is exactly why I avoid pints!!! The descriptor is correct in that it is an "exceptionally pale ale" but far too earthy, grassy and strawy for my liking. Akin to a citrus version of Fairy Liquid (other dishwashing detergents are available).

Richard Evans: At Wethers pricing it just does not matter. But what about tasters?
Alex Low: Sadly not Spoons at all. Nowhere near it in fact. Over double!
Alex Low: Rich, thick, creamy madness in a glass. Biscuit, chocolate and a hint of liquorice on the nose and mouth. Roasted malts dominate the body and it finishes with smoky, woody notes. Very nice but I could never have more than one of these in a session! ๐

Alex Low: Also, took me about the length of a Sergio Leone masterpiece (also starring Bob) to get through and yes, I needed an intermission midway. Kudos to those brave beer drinkers who can handle more than one of this genre of ale a night. Lights out for me ๐คฃ
